Carnegie Lecture

Mummy and Daddy were invited to the first Carnegie lecture in Aberdeen University which was to be given by the American Ambassador to Britain, Matthew Barzun. Daddy had apparently studied Andrew Carnegie’s business life when he was eighteen years old and had met his great granddaughter up at Dornoch approximately forty years ago. A few years ago he had been invited to the Holyrood Parliament to celebrate the Inaugural Carnegie Awards when he met the same people that he had met all those years before. He also met Vartan Gregorian who was the Chief Executive of the Carnegie Trust in New York. After the Carnegie lecture at Aberdeen University, he was approached by a senior member of staff, who asked Daddy how I was because he follows my blog! Isn’t that interesting? For me to be spoken about at the same event where the American Ambassador is speaking about one of the world’s greatest ever businessmen and philanthropists, Scot’s born, Andrew Carnegie, makes me feel very proud!
